  1. no you weren’t “arrested”. you were “cited”. sort of like getting a speeding ticket.

    arrested means they put you in custody. once you are arrested, they have to advise you of your miranda rights but normallly they will question you first and then arrest you so by the time they read you your miranda rights, you have already incriminated yourself.

    when you get pulled over for speeding, they dont read you your miranda rights, but they will question you and if you give them reason to arrest you, that’s when they pull out the handcuffs and read you your miranda rights.
